Event Information
The 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup will take place from the 15th to the 20th of October, 2023, at the prestigious Sydney Olympic Park's Quaycentre. Participating nations are expected to arrive early to allow sufficient time for recovery from their travels. This also provides an opportunity for necessary Classification and Team Training sessions to be conducted during the four days leading up to the commencement of the tournament.
Tournament Venue
All 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup games will unfold in the historical Quaycentre at Sydney Olympic Park. With its legacy of hosting grand events such as the 2000 Summer Olympic Games, the 2018 Invictus Games, and the 2018 Wheelchair Rugby World Cup, Quaycentre sets the stage for a genuinely thrilling tournament!
The arena, capable of accommodating over 2,000 spectators, features two prominent show courts. It also includes 250 wheelchair-accessible spaces, ensuring all fans enjoy the electrifying atmosphere. Participants will benefit from top-tier facilities, including changing rooms, training courts, and team storage areas, promising an exceptional competition experience.
Accommodation
We extend our gratitude to Accor, our accommodation partner, for ensuring our athletes, team officials, and support staff have a comfortable stay at the Pullman at Sydney Olympic Park. Our event officials will be accommodated at the conveniently located Novotel right next door. Accor's dedication guarantees that our delegations are well-catered throughout the duration of the event.
The event hotels are situated just 500m from the competition venue, a quick 7-minute walk to the Quaycentre. For those keen on exploring, the Olympic Park station is just around the corner, and rest assured, Sydney trains are fully accessible.
